CLUBS AND ASSOCIATIONS

To widen the scope and areas of co-curricular activities a number of Clubs and Associations are formed and a number of programmes and activities are held under the auspices of Clubs and Associations viz. Science Club, Sports Club,Nature Club, Quiz Club and Cultural Association. As part of the activities of these clubs, they organise seminars, talks, experiments, debates, educational tours and quiz competitions.

 

NATURE CLUB

  • A plantation drive was conducted in the school premises by the senior class students with their mothers. This strengthen the bond between students and their mothers and surrounding ecology. 
  • Junior class students display a short dance drama on saving the natural resources to save the earth in the assembly. 
  • Sub junior class students took part in ‘seed balls scattering program’ that teacher in-charge of eco club explain them the importance of making the barren land areas greenery to save the earth from global warming. 
  • As per the direction of the ministry of education the members of the club to the earth to organise further more programs through out the year and continue the role of favours of the mother earth by safe warding and mindful usage of natural resources. 
  • The Eco club of St Joseph School NTPC celebrated “Swatch Bharat Abhiyan”. Awareness given to the students on the importance of avoiding non-biodegradable substances like plastic in the school campus and surroundings. Holding placards and reciting the slogans students went for short rally in the school campus followed by cleaning the school premises. 
  • A plantation program was conducted on November 13. The field work started by land selection and pre planting activities with the help of simple hand tools used by the students. The students sowed the leafy vegetables.

 

MATHEMATICS CLUB

Inaugural meeting of the mathematics club for the academic year 202425 was held on 24th August 2024. In this meeting executive members were selected. 

On 14th September 2024, a debate was conducted on the topic ‘Swachata Action Plan’ organised by CBSE under the leadership of maths club and the school cabinet members. The debate concluded with a commitment from both students and teachers to actively contribute towards maintaining cleanliness within the school premises and classrooms. 

A meeting of the maths club was held on 11th November 2024 with a significant turn out of club members and in-charge teachers. During the meeting it was proposed to screen the movie, Shakuntala Devi on 15th November 2024 as a part of the effort to make mathematics learning more engaging and entertaining. The screening was well received with the many students from various classes attending the event. The movie was both informative and enjoyable highlighting the life and achievements of Shakuntala Devi renowned mathematician and sparked much interest and discussion among the students. 

Maths club convened for another meeting on 2nd December 2024 to discuss the preparation for National mathematics day which is celebrated on 22nd October every year. 22nd December falls during the school holidays the club decided to celebrate the occasion on 20th December 2024 during the school assembly. The celebration would include a variety of events such as dance performance talk show aimed at promoting the importance of mathematics. The meeting concluded with an enthusiastic support for the planned activities, which are expected to make the celebration memorable and engaging for all students. 

 

QUIZ CLUB

To enhance the inter activities and engagement of students at schools, where is a dire need to revive the quizzes and it can be a valuable tool to expand the knowledge of students by encouraging students to actively participate in the learning process, quizzes can help to foster a deeper understanding of the material being presented and can help to keep the students engaged and motivated.

St. Joseph Quiz Club works with the aim of testing student’s understanding and developing health competitiveness among students. The club organised a Junior quiz competition on 31st July 2024. Manya Singh and Arnav Singh of class VIII A  won the first and second places and they were represented or school for the interschool Junior Quiz and secured 3rd prize.

The Quiz Club organized a senior quiz competition to identify and nurture the intellectual talents of our students. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from , showcasing their knowledge and competitive spirit. 

The competition yielded outstanding results, with two students emerging as top performers:  Abhishek Kumar Pandey & Subhi from XII.A 

These students demonstrated exceptional knowledge and quiz skills, earning the opportunity to represent our school at the Isaac Memorial Interschool Quiz Competition held in Etawah on October 29, 2024. Their achievement brings pride to our institution and demonstrates the academic excellence of our student. Our team performed exceptionally well, secured runners-up in the competition.
